synopsis
Mother's Balls portrays the American Amber Vineyard, who founded the first Dutch ballroom house: 'House of Vineyard'. Ballroom is not about the quickstep, slowfox and Viennese waltz, but about the Vogue Fem, Runway and Sex Siren. Amber grew up in a strict American family. Her creative excesses were viewed with dismay at home. After she moved to the Netherlands with her mother at the age of fifteen, she found a way to express herself in ballroom. With her extravagant dance performances such as Mother of the House of Vineyard, she not only gives her 'kids' the opportunity to express themselves and build self-confidence, but she also manages to put ballroom and voguing on the international map.
