info/synopsis
Theatre director Jan Ritsema (1945-2021) bought an old monastery in Northern France and started a special artist-in-residency program for talented artists who sometimes stayed with Ritsema for months. The program is special because Ritsema wanted to share his property completely with his guests. The program is called PAF: Performing Arts Forum. It had been a long road to get this initiative off the ground because the gigantic monastery complex (almost 7000 m2) turned out to be a complete ruin after purchase. Parallel to the decay of the complex, Ritsema himself also fell deeply into despair.
